Instruments Care
To extend the working life of surgical instruments: rinse immediately after use to prevent blood and saline residue from drying on the surface, avoid saline soaking beyond the recommended time, use a neutral-pH enzymatic detergent rather than harsh alkaline cleaners, and dry instruments fully before storage to prevent spotting and corrosion.
Autoclave according to the instrument manufacturer's recommended cycle, and inspect box locks, jaws, and cutting edges periodically for wear.
